UGA
A multidisciplinary institution located in the heart of the French Alps, Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) is renowned for its scientific and technological research activities, working together with national research institutions like CEA and CNRS. UGA is a partner but does not offer access to the facilities under the EXCITE project
Laboratoire 3SR conducts cutting-edge research on Solid Mechanics, mainly in the fields of material science and structure/construction engineering, in areas of high societal relevance, such as health, energy, transport, risk and civil engineering. More specifically, 3SR is a pioneer in the use and development of x-ray tomography (lab scanner, in-situ testing, image analysis including DIC, etc) since the 90’s.
Recently, 3SR with the financial support of UGA, created in 2016 the new neutron and x-ray imaging beamline at the Laue-Langevin Institute (ILL-Grenoble), named NeXT-Grenoble. Also, 3SR develops a new Python package for image analysis (correlation, strain measurement, contact analysis, NX registration, etc), named Software for the Practical Analysis of Materials (SPAM).
